Argentina contains a conglomeration of the valuable heritage sights that have both biological and cultural importance attached to them. Some of the Argentina’s Heritage sights that are present in the World Heritage Sites’ list of UNESCO are briefly discussed below:
Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba
The Jesuit Block and Estancias of Cordoba were incorporated into the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites in the year 2000. The Jesuit dominance can be seen in the architecture of the residential buildings, the most significant Cordoba University, a church and a school. Not only this section shows such Jesuits ideals but these styles can be found in the entire group of the estancias in the regions of Cordoba. Together these Estancias comprised six in number including the Alta Gracia, San Ignacio, Santa Catalina, Caroya, Candelaria and Jesus Maria. Every single estancia contains its own architecture both of religious and stylish significance that comprise the towns formed over the years. The most compelling thing is an addition of European styles in the traditional structural showcasing the cultural aspects of the period.
Cueva de las Manos, Rio Pinturas
These extraordinary containers of the prehistoric artistic forms show the exquisitely made carvings by the people of that time. The animal forms that can be spotted on these artworks show the traces of the hunters’ societies that existed in that period. This sight is a very good example of the earliest culture that was a part of not only Argentina but also of the entire South America.
The confluence of three glaciers giving a beautiful sight along with magnificent mountains and the Argentino Lake contain an arresting sight of natural beauty has made it to be a part of the World Heritage sight since 1981.
Iguazu National Park
This exotic waterfall is renowned for its amazing view, rich bio diversity including wildlife species such as anteaters, ocelots, tapirs, caymans and an astounding variety of about 2000 plant breeds that is contained in this enthralling natural wonder. With a height of about 80 meters, this arc shaped waterfall being the primary attraction of this National Park stands as a natural heritage sight that made its entry into the World Heritage chart in the year 1984.
This natural protection for the marine species has made enormous contribution in terms of securing a safe habitat for a variety of mammals that have a risk of becoming extinct. One can see varied species of birds; sea lions, whales and a range of other preserved life forms that have increased the overall importance of this place world over.
