Almost the entire northern part of the North American continent is occupied by Canada and is rated as the world's second largest country. Canada has a population of over 30 million people and an approximate growth rate of 1.0% owing to its migration policies. Much of the population constitutes of people of diverse ethnicity who migrated from several European and Asian countries. By the year 2070, Canada's population is estimated to become 60 million. Diversity is an outstanding feature of the demographics of Canada.

Other European countries constitute 15%, American Indian 2%, other, mostly Asian, African, Arab 6% and mixed background 26%. The government of Canada earnestly attempts to maintain a multi-cultural atmosphere in the country.

Religions

Roman Catholic 42.6%, Protestant 23.3% (including United Church 9.5%, Anglican 6.8%, Baptist 2.4%, Lutheran 2%), other Christian 4.4%, Muslim 1.9%, other and unspecified 11.8%, none 16% (2001 census)

Languages

Both English (59.3%) and French (23.2%) are official languages of Canada while other languages constitute 17.5%.
