Cocos Island National Park
The Cocos Island National Park is the only island in the tropical eastern Pacific with a tropical rainforest. It is situated 550 km off the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and is an important heritage of Costa Rica. The underwater world of the Cocos Island National park is one of the world's best places to observe large pelagic species like dolphins, sharks, rays, and tuna. Area de Conservacion Guanacaste
The Area de Conservacion Guanacaste was inscribed as a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1999. This heritage site encompasses significant natural habitats for the conservation of biological diversity, together with the best dry forest habitats from Central America to northern Mexico. It also includes important habitats for endangered or rare species of plants and animals of Costa Rica. The Area de Conservacion Guanacaste display major ecological processes in its terrestrial and marine-coastal environments.
Talamanca Range-La Amistad Reserves / La Amistad National Park
The Talamanca Range-La Amistad Reserves was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. Owing to its location in Central America, the fauna and flora of North and South America has been able to interbreed. Most part of the area is covered by tropical rainforests. This property which is an important heritage of Costa Rica is occupied by four different Indian tribes.
